Jet's Birth

Jet's Story

Where to begin with this story.... I really don't have the words to describe this story to the extent it deserves. So I will just begin. Jet is a very special baby to this family. Every baby is special, but some come in times of great need. When two families need some pure joy and a genuine smile on their face. Jet's mother Caitlin lost her mother to a cancer battle January before last. Caitlin's mother was her best friend. Jet's father Logan lost his brother and grandmother last year. Both families have endured more pain in the last year than anyone should ever go through. But that's where the story begins. God knew they needed light in this time of sadness and blessed them with a beautiful healthy baby boy. I have followed and photographed this story from the pregnancy, labor and to little Jet's first days. When I decided to photograph this birth I imagined photographing a baby at the end. With Logan holding Caitlin's hand and then the baby coming into the world. As you all know life isn't always how you planned because we rarely have control over anything. Instead after hours and hours of Caitlin laboring they decided on a cesarean section. The baby was lodged in the wrong direction and even if she pushed the baby would not come without complications. So with hesitation Caitlin went along with the cesarean section. Afterwards the baby was placed under lights immediately to help with Jaundice. Needless to say when photographing births there is not a plan to follow. I just went along on the ride. Then I realized maybe I was there for other reasons as well. Maybe God had placed me in the room to sit next to Caitlin as a friend and feed her ice chips : ) Maybe I was simply there to snap the image of Logan with his mother staring at Caitlin. You see I am learning that not everything as a photographer is perfect and planned. The real moments I captured are imbedded in my mind for life and I am so grateful this family allowed me to share this time with them. Thank you, Logan & Cait            Love, Destiny

Tiny Traveler

The Tiny Traveler. This family came to see me while they were home from Saudi Arabia. That's where they are living now. They love to travel. The most fitting prop for Mr. Jack would be a globe right? This shoot was nice and relaxing the baby is a doll. He has the biggest most beautiful eyes. Enjoy their shoot. Destiny

Best Friends

I forgot to add this one. This image was my favorite from the entire shoot. It was one of those moments that was not planned. She was looking back at her dad and this was the result. She is so beautiful for only 12 years old. Her dad will stay very busy chasing off the boys.

A Day in the Country

This Day in the Country shoot was a perfect day. The kids were fun to work with. They picked on me a lot and that's what made it fun. They invited me to their beautiful home where I spent several hours taking pictures of them in their element. That's where I found the natural smiles and laughs. It is easy to feel comfortable in front of a camera when you're in the comfort of your home. This family wanted images to cover their walls and I ended up taking a lot of pictures. I wanted this shoot to vintage, fun and natural. The family was happy with the result and so was I so it was a great shoot! Destiny

Milo Ryan

Retro Glam

She is such a beauty!

When I originally envisioned this shoot I envisioned cooking in the kitchen, doing laundry and cleaning. As it turned out the outdoor shots were some of my favorites!
